Happy couple counting money from the moneybox

Spouses should be on the same page when it comes to finances. If you are married, than this post is for you. If you ever plan on getting married, than this topic has to be a non-negotiable and ongoing conversation before you say ‘I do’.  A major relationship pitfall is the painful reality of financial angst. Having a healthy financial outlook is helpful. Having a husband or wife with the same healthy financial outlook is vital to a life free to love God and others.

Do the math… one spouse is a saver; the other is a spender… if you don’t work together and communicate, your total will always come out ‘Ouch’!

1 Corinthians 1:10 “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.”

Once a relationship starts becoming serious, have open discussions about financial planning and financial goals. These conversations should continue over your lifetime to ensure that attitudes and thoughts are compatible and that you are both handling money in step together.

Be sure to join us this Sunday as we kick off our six week financial series: Balanced. You won’t want to miss a message as we take a look at aligning Faith and Finances.
