How do you teach a boy what it means to be a man? Equally so, how do you show a girl how to be a woman. By the time a boy is five, he is subconsciously copying his Father’s walk. How’s your walk?

Boys need to hear their Father say that they are strong. Girls need to hear their Father say they are beautiful. These little ones hang on your every word, your every attitude, the tone in your voice… they see it, they are learning from you all the time. The way you treat your wife has a massive influence on how your boys will treat the women in their lives. It will also have an impact on how a girl expects to be treated by the men in her future.

With all the demands on your time and all the opposing voices looking to extract and keep you occupied, what matters most is under your nose. I don’t even think it’s about quality time. I think its just TIME.

“Let’s play darts, Dad! I’ll throw.” …and you say, “Wonderful!” Lay it on thick Dad. Encourage and speak life. Find the most specific things about your children and point them out in front of them. Watch them light up. How’s your walk, Dad?

Deut 6:6 – 7  “Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night.”
